Meet the Director
Ed Rollins just completed his service at First Baptist Church of Columbia where he served as Associate Pastor for Music and Administration for 31 years. In this capacity, Ed promoted numerous ecumenical musical collaborations, assisted in the development of the Odyssey Chamber Music Series, and also developed ideas for enhancing worship through the visual arts. In the handbell world, Ed is past president of the Board of Directors of the Handbell Musicians of America, past Area 8 Chair (twice), and Area 8 Representative to the National Board. He has acted as clinician, coordinator and conductor for handbell events in 25 states. Most recently, he has conducted conferences for Area 6 and Area 1, and represented the Handbell Musicians of America as conductor for the 2016 International Handbell Symposium in Vancouver, Canada. Ed is also co-founder and current conductor of the Columbia Handbell Ensemble which is currently celebrating its 31st anniversary season. In his spare time he is a triathlete, gardener and advocate for the arts.
